What to Expect
When you visit Good News you will find that the Bible is the center of our service. We meet together to worship the Lord, and we do this through public Scripture reading, singing, and expositional preaching. We sing hymns and songs both old and new that align with the teachings of Scripture. Services last 1 - 1.5 hours and conclude with prayer. All visitors are welcome at our church!

Good News Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist Church located in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The church was organized in 1967 in a rented space, and shortly after moved to its current, permanent location in Candler, North Carolina. The primary purpose of the church is to glorify God, to know Jesus Christ, and to make Him known.

We believe in the Holy Scriptures. Accepting fully the writings of the Old and New Testaments as the very Word of God, verbally inspired in all parts, our infallible and authoritative rule of faith and practice. At Good News we use only the King James Version of the Holy Bible.

We believe there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension into heaven there to be our intercessor.

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, makes believers children of God through the New Birth, assuring them of heaven, and by His indwelling enables Christians to live a godly life.
